Circa June 1981, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.   Back then, the IHS (International Herpetological Symposium) was a new and exciting meeting place where people from all over the world came to present papers and slides on their recent breeding successes, pool their knowledge about getting herps to propagate in captivity, and generally have a good time with other sharing their "abnormality".   These were the only large meetings at the time aimed only at herpetoculture, so folks made the time and traveled far for this annual event.   While vast knowledge and clever ideas changed hands at the official daily sessions, the evening socials were often even more informative.   It was also a time for herpers to get a bit wild and crazy!
